This letter is not intended for the tiny minority of congress who try to do the right thing nor for any particular party. This letter is for the arrogant, self indulging, self serving elitists who dress up in their Brooks Brother’s suits and have $100 hair cuts. And those who consider themselves exempt from the laws they pass to impose hardships on the people they are sworn to serve. Shame on you!
We noticed that you voted yourselves a “cost of living” raise this year, $4,000 for the House and $5,300 for the Senate. What world do you live in that can rationalize a raise, paid for with our tax money, when polls show that Congressional job approval is at an appalling 19 percent? If we were to do such a terrible job and asked our boss for a raise, we would be fired as you should be. Shame on you!
Not only did you give yourselves a raise, but you voted NOT to give Social Security recipients their annual raise for the next two years! You also voted to raise our Medicare premiums $285.60 for these two years. Social Security will have a total 2 year loss of $1,600 each or $3200 for husband and wife. You also voted to TAX our Social Security income that we pay into for most of our lives. Do you even give a damn? I think not. Shame on you!
You have become so passionately involved in your ideological pissing contest that you have miserably failed to do the people’s work and have let America morph into a debtor state that has no chance of recovering while you are still in office. Hey, if things go bad, just blame the other party. It is never your fault! Shame on you!
You have grossly and constantly ignored the will of the majority of Americans and have chosen to sing the song, “I did it my way”. Americans want the borders secure. You ignore us. Americans didn’t want the Heath Care Law. You ignored us. Not only did you ignore us but you exempted yourselves from the same HC law. Is it because you consider yourselves “SPECIAL”? Do you think you are better than us? Shame on you!!
In order to accumulate the enormous amounts of money it takes to get elected and re-elected, you sell your souls to lobbyists who represent special interests which amounts to a bribe. Your allegiance is to them, not to the American people who believed your lies and voted for you. Shame on you!
Hey, maybe you’re just a whining coward who hasn’t the balls to go against the “leaders” for fear they won’t help you get re-elected, or you won’t get that coveted committee appointment, if you don’t do exactly as they say. Well grow some! Shame on you!
You come back to your district and brag about how capable you are because you were able to secure money for the district. This tax money came from the states, went to Washington, then, after funneling through a giant maze of Federal bureaucracy, we only get pennies on the dollar back to the state. Did that ever cross your mind? And what backroom deal was made that enabled you to get these pennies? Did you vote for a $300 billion administration bill to get a paltry $10 million “earmark” for your district? Shame on you!
Public service in Congress was never designed by our Founding Fathers to become your career with lifelong benefits, such as an automatic retirement plan after one term in office. We can’t retire after a few years of work, why should you? And explain to us why you think you deserve this and free health care and exemption from Social Security. Oh! I forgot, you’re “SPECIAL”! Shame on you!
Congress controls the laws and decisions made for America. You and you alone are responsibility for the mess we’re in. We need a new congress and we vow not to let you be a part of it. Goodby and Shame on you!
“Government isn’t the solution to the problem, government IS the problem.” Ronald Reagan. Please send this letter to your Senator and Representative. Let them know America is fed up with them. Shame on them!
